Magnificent High-End 3.06 ct GIA Certified Natural Zambian Emerald. When a stone is certified by GIA or AGL (not to mention Gubelin) I dont provide our report. Obviously neither can describe picture we use.Measurements: 11.17 x 8.37 x 5.69 mm. Hue: very strongly bluish Green.
It seems the stone has one very minor fissure that looks as a tiny sparkle in one position face up, very small light dot on the side in another, invisible in other (major) two. It would be nothing for the stone this weight especially taking into the account unbelievable for so dark stones crystal transparency (more important than inclusions when grading clarity of Type 3 stones), but it is not so. The stone is perfectly clean - top 10% of top for Type 3 VVS clarity grade. What looks a small fissure is actually very minor cut imperfection on the pavilion (on the back).Even though it is on the back and naturally will be invisible in setting, I significantly lowered Cut grade. It is a picture of our photographer of course; I wouldnt even try to photograph such stone. I was about to write: Usual replacement of glow by the all brilliance in the universe, - but stopped. Glow is removed of course, but the stone HAS all brilliance of the universe. Brilliance looks nice but it is not the most important property of the stone. Not even secondary even though it has Ideal Polish and its brilliance is outstanding.
Most important are gorgeous very strongly bluish Green color (fortunately this time it was not drastically altered), depth and exceptionally intensive inner glow. Unfortunately 2-dimensional picture cannot show 3-dimensional depth and glow is a light that cannot be photographed. Because of these inabilities stone on the picture has very - if not totally - different character: absolute or rather absolutely ABSOLUTE crystal. Very flat because of lack of depth.
Because of crystal transparency, sparkle and brilliance the real stone has some crystal properties but as I already said it is also very deep and extremely glowing. And this is much more important if a stone is emerald. I dont pay attention to born in narcotic hallucinations various industry price lists. Not even to price list of International Gem Society even though they are strictly educational institution and I personally know their president and a great gemologist Donald Clark.
Well, their prices are real but only if the name of your store is Tiffany. Online James Allen store has more democratic prices (only I never saw stones of such magnitude there). Their values and expertise were used in numerous legal cases around the world. After all, we sell here and on Gemrock mostly for promotion/advertisement.
